On the 23rd of March 2023, the Multiplier event for the Erasmus+ KA2 ‘STEAM4ALL: Supporting the Digital Inclusion of all Students Through an Inter-Disciplinary Programme for a Sustainable Future’, school project took place, at the Agia Varvara Gimnasium, in Agia Varvara, Nicosia, Cyprus. The event took place from 7:30 – 13:00.
As the number of students and trainers was overwhelming, the event was organized in the form of and were conducted in parallel in order to accommodate all 126 of the students and 28 trainers. Two types of workshops were organized, one themed for 3D design and 3D printing and the other regarding Drone programming and piloting.
Each workshop began with a brief welcome and introduction from the Emphasys staff trainers of the workshops, followed by an introduction of the STEAM4ALL project including the aims and objectives of the project, the consortium, the idea behind it and the project results. To conclude each session a practical activity was organized.
For the 3D Design and 3D printing session, the participants were introduced to the TinkerCAD software and were guided to design their first 3d object. The 3D printer was demonstrated and the students had the opportunity to see their object being 3D printed live.
For the Drone programming and piloting session the participants were split into groups and in their teams had to perform the various activities and challenges with the drones. The activities encouraged teamwork, collaboration, creative thinking and problem solving.
The event was a big success, as both students and teachers were very excited with the sessions and invited the Emphasys Team to conduct more after the students examinations end later during the academic year.
